Summary  Benefits  Supplemental Questions
 

    Collects or receives geographic data and transfers data into GIS databases.  Designs databases and coordinates updates and changes to databases.  Provides technical support to other users as needed.     

 Essential Functions:

    Use GIS software to develop and maintain maps, and create and maintain  information in GIS databases;                                             
    Use other business computer software applications as needed to maintain
    and compile data, and to prepare reports;                                 
    Assist in preparation of cost estimates, analyses, and computer models;
    Independently create warehouses for new data including assigning      
    attributes and determining geometry type;                                 
    Determine data attributes for new incoming data and determine data    
    layout;                                                                   
    Import GIS data from other sources, convert GIS data from one coordinate
    system to another, and create other data formats from existing data.  Scan,
    rectify, and use images to make a feature class;                           
    Indentify and execute specific queries for analysis of problems.  Create
    databases from within GeoMedia and Access.  Set up forms, write reports, and export data to other software such as Excel;                               
    Develop and conduct quality control activities;                        
    Design major map projects or datasets for analysis;                    
    Perform related duties as required.                                   

 Qualifications:

    Completion of three years college coursework in engineering, GIS, planning, architecture, computer applications or a related field.                  
    Five years of related GIS, planning, architecture, computer applications or
    related experience; or any combination of relevant education and experience
    that provides the following knowledge, and abilities:            

 Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

    The fundamental principles of geographic information systems, mapping, and database software, including spatial and attribute data.            
    Advanced knowledge of Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, GeoMedia, and
    photo manipulation software.                                            

Ability to:

    Perform spatial analysis and representation of data in maps.         
    Independently create warehouses for new data including assigning     
    attributes and determining geometry type.                                
    Determine data attributes for new incoming data and determine data lay-
    out.                                                                     
    Import GIS data from other sources.                                  
    Create other data formats (shape files, etc.) from existing data.    
    Identify and execute specific queries in response to analysis of a   
    problem.                                                                 
    Create Access database from within GeoMedia and Access.              
    Develop quality control activities.                                  
    Use PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and photo manipulation software at an   
    advanced level.                                                          
    Design major map projects of sets for analysis.             

Physical Requirements

    Continuously lift and carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lfit and carry up to 25 pounds
    Maintain ability to rrequntly stand and walk during the shift
    Occasionally climb stairs and other inclined surfaces
    Occasoinally bend and kneel during the shift
    Push and pull objects
    Freqtly flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially athe the knees
    Ocassionally rotate upper turnk to the left or right while sitting or standing
    Place arms above at and below shoulder height
    Corrdinate eye, hand and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle
