Map Specialist       

Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an energetic individual to join our team as a Map Specialist in our Alexandria, VA project office. This position will be on a temporary basis for approximately 3 to 4 months. Map Specialists serve to inform the public about FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program Rules and Regulations. This position supports FEMA's flood mapping program in a fast-paced call center environment. This individual will analyze and read maps for the Flood Insurance Program and have the responsibility for answering questions regarding the program.

A degree in Geography, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or Natural Resources is required.
Must have excellent written/oral communication and organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills, ability to work well with the public, as well as the ability to multi-task and work independently.
Analyzing maps and working effectively in a team environment is required.
PC and Internet skills, in addition to the ability to interpret maps is preferred
